Over the years Gill Technology have developed a number of custom gas flow sensors for use in medical, automotive, aerospace and industrial applications.

All gas flow products developed operate on the 'time of flight' principle, whereby a pair of ultrasonic transducers and conditioning electronics are used to measure the time taken for an ultrasonic pulse to travel. The measurement is taken in both directions and the difference in the time of flight is then used to calculate the flow velocity. Using this configuration ensures the flow is not disrupted - a downfall of many mechanical flow sensors. Click here to view an animation illustrating this principle.

Gill Technology have also developed a range of ultrasonic Anemometers for distribution through Gill Instruments. Using similar ultrasonic technology, these products have been developed to accurately monitor wind speed and direction, with two-axis and three-axis versions available.
